Lindsey Navarro, MBAFounder and Executive DirectorSince launching in 2018 El Centro has served more than 7000 Spanish speaking individuals via workshops, more than 1500 financial and entrepreneurial consultations and reached more than 198,000 virtually. Prior to launching the organization, Navarro spent 8 years working with LiftFund, where she was hired as the first bilingual loan officer outside of Texas. As Business Development Officer, she was responsible for the development, cultivation and growth of business lending for LiftFund in the state of Louisiana. She helped to deploy more than $1.2 million in microloans to Latino entrepreneurs across Louisiana, Arkansas, Alabama, and Tennessee.
Ms. Navarro holds an MBA from Loyola University of New Orleans and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from St. Peters University. Ms. Navarro was recently named to the board of directors for the National Association of Latino Community Asset Builders. Ms. Navarro serves on the Steering Committee of the See Change Collective. She serves on the board of Market Umbrella and previously served on the boards of the Crescent City Community Land Trust as president, founding Secretary of the Board of the Krewe of Themis, a Women’s Mardi Gras Krewe whose mission is to promote and foster social justice in the New Orleans Metropolitan area. She also served on the boards of the Committee for a Better New Orleans as President, President Emeritus of the board for Fund 17. In 2018, she served as the Professional Development Chair for the Hispanic Young Professionals of Louisiana, a committee of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Louisiana. In 2018 she was featured as “Heroe Local” or Local Hero by Telemundo 42, and became 2018 Bryan Bell Metropolitan Leadership Forum Alumnus, 2017 Nexus City Fellow, 2017 New Orleans Civic Leader Academy Fellow, 2015 NALCAB (National Association for Latino Community Asset Builders) Colegio Community Economic Development Fellow, and in 2014 she received the Excelencia Award for Community Service – Business from the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Louisiana. |

Maria de Los Angeles MoralesAsistente de coordinación de VITA Latinx Maria de los Ángeles Morales, our Coordinator Assistant for the VITA Latinx program, has a bachelor's degree in Economics and a diploma in Financial Administration studies. In 2022, she volunteered as a Tax Preparer in the VITA program with El Centro for the 2021 season. Maria wants to improve her financial and business education and obtain greater experience to help the Latino community understand the culture and importance of filing taxes to strengthen the economy.

Tlalli BocanegraExecutive Assistant and Customer ServiceWith a passion for helping others and always learning something new, Tlalli is El Centro's executive assistant and customer service expert. She is studying to become certified as a paralegal and to become a public notary. She also had the opportunity to participate in and graduate from the Camino Financiero program.

Oxilia NuñezIntake and Customer Service ExpertAs the daughter of entrepreneurs Oxilia work spent her time working in her parents' businesses With studies and experience in Taxes and Accounting, Oxilia can provide above and beyond the Customer Service appropriate to El Centro's Clients' needs, with respect and reliability.
